Visa Jobs With Few Restrictions
The Tier 1 Exceptional Talent Visa has been in the news recently. The British Government recently decided to double the quota of visa applicants allowed for the visa. For those who qualify as "exceptionally talented", the British Government is offering the chance for you to move here and gain indefinite leave to remain within three years. They are also offering the opportunity to bring partners and children, who will also have excellent rights.
Not only did the British Government double the quota, they also reduced the time needed to be in the country to qualify for indefinite leave to remain. This reduction from five years to three will help to make the minds up of those who have not decided where they wish to move to. It will put the UK either at, or near the top of most talented individuals wish lists and this is exactly why the British Government made the needed changes.
How would I be eligible for a Tier 1 Exceptional Talent Visa?
As you can probably predict, the criteria is tough for the Tier 1 Exceptional Visa. Firstly, you will need to have your skills verified by one of the following routes. But for those in the fields listed below, it is a wonderful opportunity for the brightest and best to come to the UK to live and work freely.
Science - The Royal Society
Engineering - The Royal Academy of Engineering
Humanities and social science - The British Academy
Medicine - The Royal Society of Medicine
Digital technology - Tech City UK
The arts - Arts Council England
Will I still have to pass an English language requirement for the Tier 1 Exceptional Talent Visa?
No, the Tier 1 Exceptional Visa does not have the English language requirement. It would seem implicit to the high level of ability needed to be classified in this "exceptional talent" that your English language skills are already very good.
Why has the Government made these changes to the Tier 1 Exceptional Talent Visa?
As a powerhouse of industry and economics, Britain needs the very best people to be in the country and working in order to thrive. It therefore makes sense to try and entice these bright talents to the UK. With them they are likely to help drive innovation and improve the lives of many people. They are also likely to earn very good wages and are therefore likely to contribute significantly to the tax coffers in the UK.
