Countries which joined the European Union in 2004 and which had a low per capita income compared to the UK (i.e. Poland, Latvia, Lithuania, Czech Republic, Slovenia, Slovakia, Hungary and Estonia). These also include countries which joined the European Union in 2007 (i.e. Bulgaria and Romania). Workers from these countries have had unrestricted access to the UK labour market since 1 January 2014.
